One thing I’ve missed about The Canoe Dossier is the necessity of writing to what’s “out there” and striking when the iron’s hot. The trouble with this personal blog has been that I’ve mostly written when the urge has taken me, about whatever has moved me in the moment. That is an indulgence that’s led to some pretty big gaps and weak posts.
Sometimes a person needs to be forced to write.
So after a particularly poor and self-indulgent item earlier this week, I determined to do better in future, by going to my audience for suggestions.
With the help of Facebook and Twitter, I harvested a bunch of ideas from helpful readers. Posting them here kills two birds with one stone: I was able to cobble together this post with next to no effort, and I have a handy-dandy list to turn to for future posts.
