It’s natural enough that I should have a fondness for the songs of 1969. After all, it’s the year of my birth. But it’s a particular pleasure to hear a selection of those songs rendered in the honeyed tones of Reid Jamieson.
I’ve always loved Reid’s work. You might call him a folkabilly crooner, combining organic song choices with popping groove and a smooth, understated voice.
It was great to get Reid and collaborator-manager-muse Carolyn Victoria Mill on the line to talk about this latest record: a birthday present/COVID project that’s a true treat for the ears.
