This was one for the record books… I don’t know how many times I’ve played and hosted at Summerfolk, but I think my first time was 20 years ago, and in all that time I don’t think we’ve ever been flooded out as badly as we were this time. And yet it was one of the best!
Great to get a chance to do the festival debut of In Search of Lost Trees before a very enthusiastic audience, and to collaborate with my friends Tara and Trevor McKenzie and Shawna Caspi, plus the amazing Tyler Wagler. Tyler and Tara wrote “The Forest is a Temple” which was a highlight of ISOLT in the grand performance last fall. This was our first time playing it together, and it was fitting, since I had first heard the song as a ‘tweener’ off mainstage last year.
