In the process, he’s introduced the likes of Emmylou Harris, Billy Bragg, Murray McLauchlan, John McDermott, Johnny Clegg, The Good Brothers, Dan Hill, Ron Sexsmith and Pavlo among hundreds of others.
For 11 years David Newland has hosted The Way We Feel, an annual celebration of the music of Gordon Lightfoot, earning the praise of Gordon Lightfoot himself for his unique role in that show.
David Newland is the host of Thinking Out Loud, streamed weekly on Small Town Radio. David was the broadcast host for the 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards live-stream, viewed across Canada and around the world, and for various other Roots Music Canada productions, including The Woodshed Sessions.
