Connecting with fellow members of the Ontario folk singer-songwriter scene is one thing I miss about pre-pandemic life.
Shawna Caspi is an artist I’d otherwise be regularly running into, but haven’t in a while. Shawna is a sensitive, deeply committed songwriter and painter, and one heck of a fingerstyle guitar player. She’s also a thoughtful conversationalist with a lot of insight into her own ongoing growth and process, so it was a delight to catch up by radio.
And as an added bonus, Shawna debuted an excellent new track Lay Low Shadow. The single from the forthcoming album Hurricane Coming takes her in a just a little bit of a country-folk-pop direction, and it really kicks!
